The neck on this sweater sits low and somewhat loosely on the neck, allowing a t-shirt underneath to show. I expected to get a true mock neck sweater, where the neck fits higher and tighter. Rated 1 out of 5�by upshur Not what i wanted I was very disappointed . I had ordered a black mock turtle neck shirt. When I received it I didn't check it but just put it away to wear later. When I put it on it was not a mock turtle neck but had a collar like a tee shirt. Like other things I have bought from Norm Thompson the quality can't be beat but it wasn't what i wanted. I didn't return it because I had had it for a while and then I had put it on; if I had checked it when I received it I would have seen the error and returned it but I didn't do that so I didn't feel comfortable returning it. Rated 3 out of 5�by SeaChele Great color I was in the market for a men's Long-Sleeved Spun Silk Mock T-Neck shirt to wear with a new sport coat. The color and feel of the material was nice. My problem was in trying to eliminate the wrinkles on the shirt due to packing. I tried steam as well as a steam iron with an ironing clothe. I was unable to get all wrinkles ironed out. Wish shirt did not show wrinkles from packing. Hard to reduce. December 28, 2015

So I chatted with the service agent and was assured that this item was opaque. When I received it I discovered that it was semi-shear and that the so called mock turtleneck was actually a crew neck. Color was nice but nothing else matched the description. I cannot recommend this item if what you want is a opaque silk mock turtleneck sweater as this item does not match the description. December 4, 2015

Is this product shear or opaque?

BEST ANSWER: It is more opaque - it is like a lightweight sweater. Washes well but always needs some ironing.
