Rated 5 out of 5�by Susan414 Lovely dress! This dress fits very nicely on an hourglass figure. It has plenty of coverage on the shoulders and a lining so you don't have to worry about wearing a slip. It's not too low cut so you could wear it to work with a shrug or go casual without any additional coverage. It's a knit, which I was not expecting, but I like the dress very much. August 5, 2015

I am 5'2" so I did take it to my taylor and I had her take off 3 inches.---the bust area and the waist size were fine. It is really cute and dressy. Rated 2 out of 5�by Riley2009 not quite what I was hoping for I should have ordered a small. The medium is too large and frumpy on my frame. 5'6'' 140 lbs, 34DD. I re-sewed the front 'V' because it was tucked together too high on my chest. Removing the tuck completely would have made it too low. The back zipper stitching arrived with a rip along the sew line. The pattern is 'a lot' of aloha'ness. Wearing a simple sweater helps break it up. I was looking for a breezy summer dress, this is all polyester and nylon, so what I got was a 60 degree fall/spring day, dress which i will wear with a sweater. However, the material DOES feel soft and wonderful. After 2 days of wearing and I had NO compliments what-so-ever. I wouldn't wear this out on a date. Not sure where this dress will end up. Probably not long in my closet. May 28, 2015

It says the waistline is ruched. Is that accomplished by stitching or elastic?

BEST ANSWER: It is accomplished by stitching the fabric in a bunched up manner. The lining is a straight A line form. The mesh over it, at the waistline poufs out and about. It sounds like it makes the wearer more voluminous, but in fact does not have that effect. The fabric of both the lining and the mesh is knit, so it's pretty comfortable. Hope that helps.

It accomplished by stitching. I probably bought it one size too large and it is, by far, the most unattractive, unflattering dress in my closet right now. I am considering it a goodwill donation. The only way I can get away with wearing it, is by tying a sweater around the waistline. It's a lot of the same loud print, too. The sweater breaks that up.

The extra material around the middle reminds me of a cumberbund. On my dress, it's like a "poof" of extra material. I would say it's stitched, not stretchy.

By stitching, the gathers run horizontally acros the waist. The fabric is somewhat stretchy making it very comfortable
