Rated 1 out of 5�by rog1234 My rating of men's full-elastic casual pants I've ordered these pants on a number of occasions over the past 10 or more years and they have been generally acceptable. However, the pair I just ordered seemed to be carelessly made and defective, as the rise and zipper are very short (about three and one half inches shorter than the other pairs I own). I'm very disappointed with Norm Thompson's quality control. This pair of pants should have been checked carefully before shipping them to me. Consequently, I returned them today for an exchange. Rated 3 out of 5�by MargeD Quality has changed I ordered the size 38 shorts for my Dad last year. His waist size is 39" and 40" is too big. Both items had a good, stretchy waistband. This year I ordered the pants and another pair of shorts. The elastic waist hardly stretches at all on both the pants and shorts. The waist is true to size, but not forgiving of "in between" sizing which is the reason for ordering an elastic waist! Very disappointing. Luckily, they fit another member of the family and I won't have to pay postage to return them. July 24, 2015

Do the Extra Large (waist) pants stretch beyond 42"?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, these pants have a fly front with zipper. They also have a button. What's great is that you don't have to use the zipper or buttons if you are having trouble buttoning as you age. Just pull these pants right up. My 91 year old father loves them. My 82 yr. old husband loves them! They wash like a dream if you follow the directions. Light iron and they look almost professional pressed.

yes. It has a regular zip front with a button closure. We bought 3 pairs of the denim for my 91 year old father. He can put them on easily because of the elastic waist and doesnt have to use the fly front. They seem to stay up pretty well also.

Yes these pants do have a fly front. My husband has 3 pairs of these and is very happy with them. They are nice looking with a tailored finish. We are both pleased with them.
