I watch so many cooking shows and I did hear them talk about black garlic. I have never seen even the bulbs in any grocery store by me. Whole Foods might carry the bulbs or even this but it's not that close to me. My son and I were talking & he mentioned he wanted to taste black garlic too. I actually found this on a sister site of blair when I went to order something else. I believe it was Norm Thompson; it was on sale and Blair was running free S&H so I couldn't resist. I urge anyone who might buy this to go the website listed on the jar. They have some great ideas and recipes. They also sell black garlic whole and other things that have to do with black garlic. My son and I eat just popped a clove into our mouths when this arrived. We both loved it. It's texture is that of roasted garlic but the taste is a bit hard to explain. Has a licorice flavor to it; and a bit of a kick in the end. The best part though since I haven't had time to cook with it yet is it leaves no garlic taste in your mouth like regular garlic. This is not something I could just open the jar and eat all at once like olives (love olives) but I was very happy I tasted it. Would like to taste black garlic bulbs now. I think this would add a great/different flavor to anything even if you don't like garlic. If you do then mix both regular with the black learned that from the site on the jar. I would recommend anyone who has heard about this to give it a shot. Does not need to be put in fridge until opened that is also stated on the jar. Wish the print was a bit bigger because I had to search for their website but it's there.

This is not your Mothers garlic !! I love it and gave it as gifts this Christmas. Everyone is raving about it.
Very different from 'white' 'raw' 'regular' garlic. Even folks that said they didn't like garlic liked this.

I've been enjoying this product since the first time it was offered. It added a nice touch and depth to my sauce, but otherwise I've yet to try it with any suggested uses as it never lasts long enough. I am totally hooked on just spreading it on a nice crusty piece of Italian bread, three or four cloves at a pop and then next thing I know it's gone. Thanks for broadening my palette once again! You guys rock!

Try it. You'll like it.
Black garlic means you can eat low-cal and still feel pampered. It has a silken, luxe feel in the mouth. Sweet and smoky. I'd highly recommend it, and purchased several to tuck in Christmas gifts.
