Rated 1 out of 5 by ktgadd Snowballs overated
I was disappointed with the quality of these. The cake was dry and the overall taste was way too sweet. Will not order again or recommend them.

My favorite holiday treat in the NT catalog! If you like coconut and marshmallow and chocolate cake - these are all three in one delicious treat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mamabear6 Childhood memories revisited
Purchased these for my 87-yr old dad who loves coconut & looked forward to them every Christmas when an aunt would make them just for him. He & my mom ranted & raved about the flavor, freshness, size & quality of these snowballs. They definitely brought back great memories from Christmases past. One was large enough for them to split, so they lasted a good long time. I believe a new Christmas tradition has begun!

Rated 3 out of 5 by EJWinKC Pretty, but tasteless
I was disappointed. These were fairly well packed and arrived looking okay, but when I tasted one, it was like they did not contain sufficient sugar. I disposed of the rest of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by IdahoNana15 Glad I ordered
I was skeptical and almost did not order because I felt at $6 each it was a little high priced. But soooo glad I did. These are so big and so good, worth EVERY cent. Will order again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Sheilatoes Too little cake
Bought this for holiday dessert. Disappointed!
The Snowball was almost all creme.
Would have been great if there was more cake inside all that creme.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Nurse4life I expected better
I receive Norm Thompson catalogs routinely. I have often looked at the food items but have not ordered previously. In the Holiday catalog the one item that others seem to rave positively about are the "Snow Balls". They remind me of the snow balls that once sold in the grocery stores (Hostess, I believe). As a child I loved them and to have a package in my Christmas stocking was a huge treat. This year I decided to order them especially for my husband who loves what he calls "sweet snack foods" (i.e. "Little Debbie" products, etc.).
The product came in a cooled container and they looked beautiful. I let them come to room temperature, fixed a fresh pot of coffee, and when my husband came inside from working in the cold - I served him his favorite coffee and a "Fresh" Snowball on a Christmas plate. He was in awe and I stood there while he took the first bite. I was expecting a bright smile and lots of "oohs and aah's". Unfortunately he sat the plate down and said the "cake is hard, and the icing is gooy and overtakes the cake". In otherwords, he felt there was more icing than cake. He did not eat another. I tried one later in the day and felt the same way. The cake was tasted "old" and rather musty. I ended up throwing them away. What a shame for the cost of what I thought would be a great addition to our holiday sweets.
