This takes way to long to heat up, my defroster in my car had the windshield defrosted before this scraper warmed up. The scraper surface is very uneven and does not do the job I had hoped for.

I bought 4 for gifts and one for myself. It didn't warm up after being plugged into my car's cigarette lighter for over 5 minutes. My gift recipients haven't advised me whether their scrapers work or not.

Nothing dismayed me more than fnding the car had to be scraped before I could drive. I've used it once, so far, after an episode of not knowing how to insert the power cord into the lighter, and it's terrific. No more strained backs and shoulders.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Susan This is for my OTHER brother and it will certainly make clearing his windshield easier. He loved it.

For a non-technitian like me, it was not clear that the ice scraper would only attacch to a new-model cigarette lighter. I received it, it did not fit my lighter hole, and I returned it. It's a terrific idea; I wish it were something I could use.

I live in Murrieta, CA. You cannot buy an ice scraper of any kind here ... but even in the land of endless summers windshields DO ice up on winter mornings. Imagine my surprise when my girlfriend gave me an ELECTRIC one for Christmas! It plugs into the cigarette lighter socket of the car. On the back it has ribs for breaking up the ice. The handle is extendable for those who have short arms and large windshields. It folds up very compactly. What a clever invention ... even for those who live where it rarely freezes!
