The color is great, and the picture of it made me think it would be a great work dress. However, it's too short to be a long dress and too long to be a short dress. I wish I looked as good as the picture.

Nice Shirtwaist Style
I love the shirtwaist style as it is a good style for me since I have broad shoulders and narrow hips. It seemed to go out of style for a few years but seems to be making a comeback now. It is well lmade with finished seams and the sleeves are roomy enough for those of us with large arms--I frequently have to go up a size to get sleeves that don't look like stuffed sausages. The fabric is a lovely blue shade but it is much heavier than expected; it has a satin finish on the inside which makes it much thicker. I would say it is a three-season dress--too heavy for summer. I would like for Norm Thompson to offer more dresses in this style in lighter weight fabrics with a self belt (not a tie back) and also a little shorter. I have not worn or washed the dress yet so cannot comment on its durability but it certainly seems like a winner.
