Can this be frozen and for how long?

BEST ANSWER: My husband is Slovenian and grew up with a mother and grandmother who made this regularly. We have purchased this product and found it adequate but not "like mother used to make." Freezing or refrigerating potica for more than a brief time tends to dry it out. A bit of butter and warming in the microwave helps.

I froze mine until Easter. I wrapped it in foil and when I took it out of the freezer I re-wrapped it loosely in wax paper, put it into a cookie tin and left it on the counter overnight, It was delicious for breakfast on Easter Sunday morning.

Yes, it actually freezes fquite well, right in its own wrapper. I slipped mine into a into a quart-size zip-lock baggie.. I wouldn't keep it frozen longer than a couple of months, however. Thaw at room temp.
