What is the chest measurement of this coat? I understand it runs large.

BEST ANSWER: Depending on where you live, the answer could be yes. I use this as a dressy coat for theatre, going out to dinner, parties, etc. In dry weather down to the low 50s F, it is fine. The lower the temperature, the more layers I need underneath (e.g. wool dress, silk thermals). I just wore it tonight over a turtleneck and jumper with tights and gloves. It was fine. But if you need a coat for temperatures lower than the upper 40s F, I would look for something sturdier.

Absolutely. Because it's unlined you have a lot of freedom to move your arms and underneath sweaters and shirts don't bind up like they would with a lined coat. Boiled wool is very warm and because it's not bulky, it's perfect for layering in cold weather.

I don't think it's bulky. Also, not cuddly warm like a coat with bulk would feel. I do feel warm when I have a sweater underneath and a scarf. Suits me. I bought a second one.

BEST ANSWER: It is not but boiled wool garments typically are not. I have this identical coat in the blue and black. They are so flattering. As some one else said truly elegant and very high quality. Geiger has been around for decades and is top of the line.

No, it is not lined however the seams are serged to give it a finished look inside. Because boiled wool has give to it, it would not be practical to line this coat. Hope that helps.

This coat is not lined. It has been a wonderful coat, and the flexibility of the boiled wool fabric makes it easy to put on without a lining.

No, this coat is not lined. It is a dense boiled wool that I can wear with a sweater. In really cold weather I wear a heavier coat.

It is a stand up collar with a button in the front. Sits away from the neck, allowing for a scarf or turtle neck to be worn if needed for the winter cold. I have a long neck, love this style. Have 2 of these coats, one of which was purchased here and the other in Europe.

I typically am a 12; so I ordered a 12 in the Geiger coat. This coat runs large and is not a fitted style. Size 10 would have fit me better, but I did not reorder the coat in size 10 because it was too warm for my purposes. I have several Geiger jackets, and this car coat was a beautiful blue red (versus orange red). Hope this helps.

I am a size 14; the sizing seems to be true to size. The coat fits nicely and has spare room for a light weight blazer or sweater underneath. The coat is not lined.

I ordered a 42 as I thought it would be the correct size. The coat runs large and a size 40 would have been a better fit; however, the item is truly a coat for use while outdoors and not to be worn as a lightweight jacket; so I did not order it in a size 40. Nevertheless, the jacket is beautiful and a very good quality. The red is a true blue red, not orange. I am partial to Geiger. Hope this helps.
