BEST ANSWER: I purchased a Large size in this item and the Capris fit very nicely. Every body type is different so a person just has to give them a try. They are light-weight which is very nice for the hot days of summer. They are "fun" to wear and a welcome change from a solid color.

Because of the elastic back I felt it ran a little big. But a medium was closer to an 8. I love the seersucker fabric!
